Biography Of Overseer Rorie
Praise The Lord Everybody. I am pastor L. Rorie. Founder and pastor of Prayer Is The Answer Ministry. I was called to preach the gospel in the late 70's. I studied and went to Aenon Bible College. I completed and passed my courses that it took for me to receive my credentials for Ordination to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was ordained into the gospel in July 2000. I was ordained under the Pentecostal Assembly Of The World (PAW) at the Apostolic church of God under the leadership of Bishop A.Brazier and our Presiding Prelate at that time was Norman L. Wagner.
In Sept. 2001 I had a hemorrhagic stroke. This is the type of stroke where you bleed from the brain. I laid in the hospital and bled from the brain for 5 days because they couldn't do surgery. I was given three days to live. My family was told to prepare for the worse. I was in a coma for 16 days before I knew I was even alive. I was in the hospital for 30 days and had to have four months of Physical, occupational and speech therapy before I could come home. The left side of my brain had shut down. There was no band-aid for this but there was Jesus and prayer.
I came home with the assistance of a wheel chair. I went from that to a walker. I went from that to a cane. I went from that to totally depending on Jesus. Satan knew he didn't have permission to kill me but if he could have just gotten me to curse my God. If he couldn't have just gotten me to turn my back on God. If he could have just gotten me to loose faith in Jesus. You see he didn't know my future but he did know my potential.
Satan had a plan. His plan was to intercept that which God had promised me. But, what he didn't know was that I was anointed. appointed and chosen by God. I'm reminded of the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years. She knew that if she pressed her way through the crowd to get to Jesus -- that her blessing would be in her pressing. I knew that if I would continue to have faith in what God could do-- that my healing would be in my pressing. I had to press beyond the hurt and the pain. I had to press beyond what the physicians said that I couldn't do. Beyond what they said that I would never do.I had to press my way back to teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I didn't give up. I had to believe in myself and have faith in God. I had to know that man's extremity was God's opportunity. In everything that I went through it was to the Glory Of God. You really don't know my story and what I had to go through to get here. You'll never understand my praise, don't try to figure it out, but my worship is for real. Those are the words from one of my favorite songs. Oh how true.I have devoted my life to the ministry of teaching the gospel and I will not turn back. I do know that Prayer Is The Answer. I love teaching and preaching the word of God. I love feeding the sheep with knowledge and understanding.
I am married to a wonderful man by the name of Hayward. This man totally supports me in my work in the Kingdom of God. He supports me as the pastor that I am.I have four children. Christal, Tyree, Diane and China. One step daughter Theresea. Eight grandchildren,
